“Deeper” is an immersive experience combining art and technology, live performance and 3D VR, to explore and question the boundaries of what we know now as “human conscience” expressed in threshold experiences. Areas of madness, sex, psychedelia and near-death experiences reveal a vast plasticity of what we know now as conscience, which also seems to resound in the research on VR technologies.

At Mix Brasil Festival, a demo version of this work will be exhibited, with a presentation of the project, a chat with the creative team and a VR tour through 3D glasses.

“Feminine Labyrinth” narrates the story of two women (trans and cisgender) who are about to get married to their respective princes. However, what seems to be a lovely and happy relationship hides something quite different. Through performances and intense monologues, the play explores the domestic violence cycle and how these abusive circumstances emerge in many different ways, while it also debates the importance of struggling against femicides and transfemicides that leads to the decimation of women’s empowerment. With Wallie Ruy (transgender actress), Gabriela Gama e Shirtes Filho (cisgender actors).

Desire’ Series #1

14 NOV | TUESDAY | TEATRO SERGIO CARDOSO

#Dramatica #dança #França #gay #fetiche

“Desire’ Series #1” immerses the viewer in a procession and an ode to desires. A ritual that sublimates the image of the body restricted, where vulnerability becomes strength, where fragility becomes power and where proximity to the audience recalls the humanity of each of us.This solo is an area of research, meeting and sharing with the work of the Brazilian artist and photographer Fábio Motta. The re-reading and the diversion of the shibari and ikebana codes will lead “Desire’s Series” to explore the mysteries of our desires. Create an ode to the constrained body, the pleasure retained in a world where the satisfaction of our least desires leads us inexorably to our own loss. This desire for ever more, for possession, distances us from natural and necessary desires, from ourselves and ravages our world. An invitation to an intimate journey, to the powerful fragility where our relationship to the body is questioned. A ritualized body where the proximity with the public summons the humanity of each one.

“Virtual Intimacy” explores our relationship with technology and the ways it shapes our connections with others. Developed by artists from Taiwan and Australia alongside queer community participants in São Paulo, the performance interrogates the world through digital footprints left behind — steps taken, the Facebook friends made, Instagram photos shared and number of hookups — on the search for “virtual intimacy”.

A unique performance experiment suitable for Portuguese and English speakers, “Virtual Intimacy” explores queer stories of coming out, love, loss and finding community through technology.

“The Future” is an exhibition in movement, made for non-conventional spaces. Carrying the weight of concrete as a metaphor of our civilization and colonial past, emphasizing human vulnerability, the Shibari ritual aims for solidarity between people as the only solution to the disintegration of society. A human message, queer, to lift our mountains again and again, to build and rebuild, the colossi with feet of clay, vulnerable but powerful, builders of tomorrow, to reinvent the link, to show the strength of those who unite, all of us, the peoples of yesterday, today and tomorrow… An ode to the need of deceleration for our world and the slowness of humanity.

In his living room, a retired playwright makes a disclosure to a spectator, addresing him in a nostalgic and intimate way, as if they were old friends reconnecting: he is in a process of memory loss and seeks company on a transformative journey to rebuild and preserve his beloved memories. Inspired by true stories of gay men over 60, this immersive and interactive narrative invites the audience to witness the most intimate and conflicting memories of the protagonist before they vanish. Through a performative and captivating memory reconstruction, applying theatrical language, “Queer Utopia: Act I – Cruising” travels all over intricate spaces inhabited by ephemeral bodies made of particles. The play gathers an intergenerational essay on the fight for LGBTQIA+ rights, while investigating the past to reimagine an utopian vision of the fututre.
